Job Title: Financial Accountant

Reports to: Financial Controller

Department : Finance & Accounts

Job Summary:

The Financial Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing financial reports, performing reconciliations, ensuring
compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the month-end and year end closing processes. The role ensures the integrity of financial information and assists management in making informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounting record
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• Monitor and clear suspense accounts promptly.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure timely completion of financial close activities.
• Maintain proper documentation for all accounting transactions.
• Maintain the fixed asset register.
• Compute depreciation and ensure proper capitalization of assets.
• Support physical verification exercises and asset reconciliation.
• Review inventory accounting and reconciliations where applicable
• Provide schedules and supporting documents for external and internal audits.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and statutory requirements.
• Support regulatory and tax compliance activities.
• Supervise the finance team to ensure accuracy, efficiency and compliance with IRFS and company’s policy.

• Timeliness of month-end close.
• Accuracy of financial reports.
• Number of unreconciled balance sheet items.
• Audit findings and resolution rate.
• Timeliness of statutory and management reporting.
• Compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Accuracy of journal entries and account reconciliations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or ICAN is a must, with 3 yrs post qualification experience
• Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the aviation industry.
• Knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Experience using ERP systems such as Odoo, SAP, Sage, or similar accounting software.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
