Raphael Uchegbu is responsible for driving the business strategy of United Nigeria Airlines for growth and development. This includes managing sales, marketing and customer service efforts of the organization for revenue generation, business growth, and profitability. Uchegbu has over 24 years of professional experience across functions, including business development, sale and marketing, relationship management, procurement, customer services and airport management. He has also worked in management teams across industries including banking, manufacturing, real estate and aviation. He most enjoys creating and deploying sustainable initiatives and projects that shape organizations and industries within which he works.
Prior to joining United Nigeria Airlines, he worked for reputable organizations, including, United Bank for Africa Plc; First Bank of Nigeria Plc; and UBA Capital & Trust Ltd and Resort International Ltd. He worked in various capacities such as Asset Manager, Multilateral Agency Manager, Head Retail Banking and Project Manager. He also worked as Ag. Head of Business for Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL)-Operators of the MMA2 Airport 2, Ikeja Lagos.
Raphael is a graduate of Marketing and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Calabar. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) and has PRINCE2 Project Management Certificate UK. In addition, he holds a certificate with Distinction from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) on Route Development & Commercial Management, and on customer services. He is certified in Safety management systems (SMS); Emergency Response Management; International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) etc. He has attended various courses and has experience in developing strategic management options, project management and business re-engineering, budget planning, monitoring and control. He is a mature team player with a high sense of integrity. His relationship management skill, doggedness to business processes and ability to get things done are exemplary.
